Moscow [Russia], February 11: Vladimir Putin awarded science and innovation prizes. The event coincides with Russian Science Day on 8 February. This is reported on the Kremlin's official website.Oil extraction, oceanology, chemical analysis and the development of technology for testing complex technical devices - five researchers working in these fields have received the award from the country's president.At the Council for Science and Education, which was held via videoconference, the implementation of strategic initiatives in the field of science and technology was discussed.Now in Russia, at the initiative of the government, federal scientific and technical programmes in the field of agricultural development, genetic technologies, synchrotron-neutron research and climate change are successfully operating. An innovative programme of national importance has been launched to develop a unified national monitoring system for climate-relevant substances.Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko and Mikhail Kovalchuk, President of the Kurchatov Institute, addressed the Council.Since 2008, the prize has been awarded to young scientists in Russia for their contribution to the development of science and the development of new technologies that ensure the innovative development of the country's economy.
