Doha [Qatar], February 19: TotalEnergies EP Qatar has named Antoine Delafargue as Managing Director and Country Chair, effective January 2026, the company said.In his new role, Delafargue will oversee the affiliate's exploration and production operations in Qatar while helping strengthen the group's long-standing partnerships in the country. He will also support TotalEnergies' multi-energy strategy and the Gulf state's energy transition goals, aligned with national development plans.Delafargue brings more than two decades of international experience within the company across geosciences, subsurface engineering, corporate transactions and renewable electricity development. He joined in 2004 as a reservoir engineer working on steam-assisted projects in Canada, later moving to offshore gas exploration in the UK North Sea and deep-offshore developments in Angola. After a management role at the firm's technical excellence centre in France, he joined the Gas, Renewables and Power branch as Managing Director and Chief Technology Officer for corporate ventures.Between 2021 and 2024, he served as Vice President in charge of corporate transactions, advancing the group's low-carbon strategy.Most recently, he was Vice President for Distributed Generation, leading development and commercialisation of onsite solar solutions for commercial and industrial clients worldwide."I am delighted to join TotalEnergies EP Qatar at such an exciting time for both the company and the country," Delafargue said, noting Qatar's historic importance to the group and pledging to reinforce partnerships, maintain safe and responsible operations and support national energy ambitions.A graduate of École Polytechnique, he also holds a Master of Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.TotalEnergies has operated in Qatar for more than 90 years, with interests spanning exploration and production, LNG, petrochemicals and renewable energy. Its portfolio includes stakes in the Al-Khalij field and Al-Shaheen field, the Al Kharsaah solar power plant, and founding partnerships in QatarEnergy LNG and Dolphin Energy.
