Sanaa [Yemen], June 28: Thousands of Yemenis on Friday gathered in public squares across Houthi-controlled provinces to show their support for Gaza and Iran, according to the Houthi-run Al-Masirah TV.
The rallies were organized under the banner "praising Iran's victory ... and expressing steadfastness with Gaza until victory," following a previous call by the Houthi group for its supporters to participate in the demonstrations.
In Al-Sabeen Square in central Sanaa, pro-Houthi demonstrators displayed Yemeni and Palestinian flags alongside banners expressing solidarity with Gaza, while chanting anti-Israel and anti-America slogans.
They congratulated Iran on what they described as "the great victory" in its recent conflict with Israel and the United States, and voiced support for "Palestinian resistance operations in Gaza."
The Houthis initiated their campaign against Israel in November 2023, weeks after the outbreak of the Israel-Hamas conflict, in a bid to express solidarity with Palestinians in Gaza.
