Hanoi [Vietnam], April 8: Recently, Huyen My became the center of discussion on social media when a series of posts selling off designer clothes and shoes on her personal account were widely shared. Among them, a pair of designer shoes with worn soles, which she sold for 2 million VND, stood out. Huyen My stated that the shoes originally cost 20 million VND. According to the images she posted, the shoes had been used quite a lot, with noticeably worn soles, and the leather lining no longer retained its original shape and color. In addition, several other shoe and clothing items that Huyen My posted for sale were in similar condition.
This quickly sparked heated debate and conflicting opinions on social media . Many argued that the price didn't truly reflect the product's condition, and suggested the beauty queen should pay more attention to the product's image before posting it for sale to ensure aesthetic appeal, especially since she's a public figure. Conversely, some netizens argued that buying and selling should be based on voluntary agreement, and since the seller had publicly disclosed the condition, buyers could consider their options before making a decision.
Following the controversy, on the afternoon of April 7th, Huyen My officially spoke out. She shared: "Suddenly, many customers flooded in, and I only then realized I had been mentioned. I simply thought that since I had no more space at home, I should sell these items as quickly as possible, not focusing too much on the money. I also made it clear here that I was too lazy to go to the spa for my items, so I set the price that way to sell them quickly. I was transparent from the beginning, aiming for a fair transaction; I didn't post one thing and send another." In addition, the Miss Vietnam 2014 runner-up admitted she didn't expect selling off items to have such a "lesson" and said she would be more careful in the future. Currently, her post has been deleted or hidden from her personal page.
