Warsaw [Poland], April 6: Poland and Ukraine want to jointly solve the problem of an oversupply of cheap Ukrainian grain on the Polish market, Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Ukrainian President VolodymyrZelensky said in Warsaw on Wednesday. In Poland, the issue was causing a "serious headache," Morawieckisaid."We have also talked about it, proposed certain solutions to each other that need to be put in place quickly."Zelensky suggested a solution had been found. "I think that in the next few days, weeks, we will finally solve all the problems," he said.
"There can be no questions whatsoever, no difficulties whatsoever between such close partners and real friends as Poland and Ukraine."Ukraine's grain exports, restricted because of Russia's war, run not only across the Black Sea or the Danube, but also overland through Poland. However, onward transport is stalled and the ports are overloaded. Polish farmers have been protesting for days against cheap agricultural products from the neighbouring country and Agriculture Minister HenrykKowalczyk resigned over the issue on Wednesday.
