Tehran [Iran], March 12: Iran's police chief on Tuesday warned citizens against protesting for regime change after Israel called on Iranians to rise up against the leadership of the Islamic Republic.
"Anyone who takes to the streets at the enemy's request we will no longer see as a protester," Ahmad-Reza Radan said on state television. "We will see them as an enemy and treat them as an enemy.""All our forces have their fingers on the trigger," the police chief added.
Earlier, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu had called on Iranians to rebel against their government.
Israel and the United States were waging "a historic war for liberty," he wrote in a message addressing the Iranian people. "This is a once in a lifetime opportunity for you to remove the Ayatollah regime and gain your freedom," Netanyahu wrote. (Agencies)
