Washington [US], September 27: The latest document released by US House Democrats related to the late billionaire pedophile Jeffrey Epstein suddenly appears with Mr. Elon Musk.
According to documents released by the US House Oversight Committee on September 26, which are said to be copies of Mr. Epstein's travel diary, billionaire Musk made a trip to Mr. Epstein's island on December 6, 2014. At that time, Mr. Epstein owned a private island in the US Virgin Islands, Politico reported.
A line in the December 6, 2014 filing reads: "Reminder: Mr. Elon Musk will be visiting the island on December 6 (will this still happen)?"
Democrats on the House committee said they had received voicemail logs, flight logs and passenger lists, copies of Epstein's financial ledgers and daily schedules.
In addition to Mr. Musk, Mr. Epstein's schedule diary also mentioned plans to have lunch with technology billionaire Peter Thiel on November 27, 2017, and breakfast on February 16, 2019 with Mr. Steve Bannon, who served as White House chief strategist during the first term of US President Donald Trump . In addition, British Prince Andrew is also said to have been on the same flight with Mr. Epstein in 2000, traveling from New Jersey to Florida in the US.
Mr. Musk and the others named have not commented on the information. There is no information to suggest that the people involved knew about the criminal conduct that led to Mr. Epstein's subsequent arrest.
In 2008, Mr. Epstein entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors after the parents of a 14-year-old girl reported that Mr. Epstein had sexually abused their child in Florida . In July 2019, Mr. Epstein was arrested on sex trafficking charges. He committed suicide in a New York City jail in August 2019 while awaiting trial.
Elon Musk once posted on social media criticizing the Trump administration's hesitation in releasing Epstein's files because the US president was mentioned in the documents, but later deleted the post.
Democrats called on the government to release more documents about Jeffrey Epstein's case soon, while Republicans on the committee accused Democrats of "prioritizing politics over victims," but also promised to release the documents gradually.
